Some thoughts about Green Arrow #50

Green Arrow will have to fight against one of his most dangerous enemies.

Oliver is still dealing with the virus that infected him but he will soon learn there are other things to be concerned about due that Deathstroke the Terminator is hunting the same person he's trying to safe.

I can't believe this... I think I actually liked this issue.

Ben Percy delivers this anniversary issue by playing with the ramifications of his previous arc and credit where credit is due, while the whole "becoming a werewolf makes you realize you're privileged" is dumb as fuck, he manages to get an entertaining tale after it by focusing on an encounter between Green Arrow and Deathstroke that is more entertaining than it should be.

The social commentary is still heavy-handed and the rest of the villains continue to be quite one-dimenstional but Deathstroke is perfectly written while the dynamic between Ollie and Emiko is pretty enjoyable. Even the dialogue wasn't as overwrought as usual and manages to get some decent lines here and there. This makes me wonder if Percy could write a decent superhero story if only he wasn't so focused on expressing how intelligent and empathetic he is.

Szymon Kudranski handles the artwork and is pretty good looking with a nice sense of atmosphere and storytelling although Emiko looked a bit weird at times due how wide-eyed she was.

Definitely the best I've read from this run, maybe it won't end in a terrible way.
