Things are very different from what the X-Men remember.
The Blob is currently beating the whole team and it will take one of the strongest members to defeat him. However, things might still be far from over.
Again, this worked quite nicely in many aspects.
Dennis Hopeless continues his story by focusing on the old X-Men villains like Blob and Toad and creating the contrast about how dangerous they're now compared to the past. The plot progresses in an effective way, is not really that fast paced but not as slow as previous chapters and the fight manages to be entertaining.
The character work is where this issue shines as usual. Just as I mentioned in the last chapter, I was worried that Idie was going to be the stereotypical person who complaints about God but it fortunately took a more balanced twist that makes her a more believable and relatable character. The rest of the cast also receive nice moments, especially Warren who seems closer to his older self now and not in the best way.
Mark Bagley still handles the art and it continues to be pretty consistent with good character models and nice action scenes.
Pretty enjoyable, especially due to the cast.
