Some thoughts about Secret Six #12

The Secret Six are about to lose one of their members.

Lady Shiva has arrived to their neighborhood and she wants to take Strix to her side. Now, the team will need to try to find a way to save her along with some old friends.

Is it just me or some things came out of nowhere here?

Gail Simone offers a new installment where she still focuses on the relationships between the members of the cast and it works solidly for what is worth. The characters have obviously formed a bond at this point and is good to know that the writer is exploiting such dynamic in an appropriate way.

On the other hand, is it just me or Sue Dibny appeared just randomly? Yes, this was supposed to happen sooner or later considering such plot-point but she was reintroduced here in a pretty quick and clunky manner which seems a bit contrived. Oh well, at least this means that Ralph is back as the Elongated Man.

Dale Eaglesham and Tom Derenick continue on art duties and their work is consistent over the course of the story but I'm starting to get tired of the tone of the series, particularly the colours which I don't think fit Eaglesham' work that well.

Overall, still a mixed bag and I'm not sure if it will improve at the end.
