Some thoughts about Catwoman #50

Catwoman has been sent to prison, will she be able to get out?

Selina has been manipulated all this time by someone who might be even smarter than her. Now, she will need all of her skills and the help of some of her friends to escape.

Well, this issue certainly delivered good content.

Frank Tieri concludes his initial storyarc continuing exactly where the last chapter ended with Selina put in prison for murder and having to fight for her life. This section works nicely thanks to the good dialogue and characterization, not to mention the accurate portrayal of some other characters who appeared here. The revelation of who has been manipulating Selina is pretty surprising and their dynamic is as entertaining as you would expect.

Inaki Miranda and Geraldo Borges share art duties for this section and they mantain a consistent style over the course of the story with great action scenes and good looking characters.

There's a second story focusing on the history of a cursed mask that Selina needs to steal and that is connected to an upcoming storyline which seems promising so far. Dan Panosian and Alex Konat handle the pencils here and their darker style fits perfectly for the tone of the story.

Finally, there's a fun little tale about how Selina manages to enter into the Justice League watchtower. Catwoman fans will most likely find this pretty enjoyable. Steve Pugh is in charge of the art here and he manages to tell the story by himself pretty well in some scenes.

Quite satisfying read, hope to see more like this.
