The Swamp Thing will have to face yet another human turned into a monster.
Alec Holland has been investigating about the zombie creature that has been killing people recently and he will soon realize that he has been manipulated.
Once again, some things work, others don't.
For one, Len Wein does his best to create a retro horror comic story here with Swamp Thing investigating more about the truth behind this case and showing how humans can be just as horrible as the monsters he's fighting. Is not a bad concept per se and it still certainly has its own charm.
On the other hand, the story is not particularly impressive. The villain doesn't really presents complex motivations nor objectives and the "mystery" behind it is solved pretty quickly. The dialogue is also not the best, while it works nicely for the classic tone is trying to evoke, at times it seems pretty dated.
Kelley Jones continues in art duties and his work is still one of the best things about this title due that he's able to create a pretty nice horror style that fits perfectly with the kind of old-school story they're going for.
I can't hate this too much, I suppose is still okay.
