If Batman wants to return to live, Bruce Wayne will have to die.
Bruce has been suffering a lot lately due that he has seen how the people of Gotham are being killed by Mr. Bloom and he has decided that the city needs Batman once again. However, Alfred is not ready to give up on him.
I'm going to be honest here: This might be one of the most creative chapters that Scott Snyder has ever written.
Accompanied by James Tynion IV, Snyder continues his story by exploring the idea that Batman always has a backup plan including one that could create a whole lineage of himself in case something happening to him. Is pretty twisted, then again, is completely accurate based on the kind of character he is.
Plus, there's a whole lot of different scenarios, different lives where there's always a different Batman and all of them seem pretty inventive and interesting and makes me wish they were explored more. Not only that but Snyder comes up with a compelling connection between both the Bruce Wayne and Batman identities.
Yanick Paquette handles the artwork here and is really, really good. The layouts are quite compelling, the storytelling is strong and the characters are beautiful.
Pretty impressed by this issue, easily the best of this whole storyarc.
