Some thoughts about Wonder Woman #49

Zeke's life is in danger and Wonder Woman doesn't know what to do.

Diana is worried because Zeke has been showing some strange symptoms and now she will require the aid of yet another God.

You know, I have been seeing a pattern here.

Meredith Finch delivers a new chapter where she focuses on the ramifications of previous storylines where Zeke resurrected both Apollo and Ares by revealing the power of Zeus and I can appreciate the sense of long-term planning. What I can't appreciate is the characterization.

Since the beginning of her run, Finch has been portraying Diana as quite incompetent and weak in terms of both personality and power. She always needs the help of others to do her job and she isn't confident at all in her own skills. This issue is no different with her needing the help of Hecate which could easily bite her in the ass as well as being easily defeated by a Cyclops in the end. This is simply a pretty poor characterization.

David Finch handles the artwork and he's actually pretty solid delivering good character models and action scenes.

Aside from that, you can still skip this. Is more of the same.
