What makes a Superman?
Clark is about to meet some of the most influential persons in the world right now and each one of them will affect his outlook in life and his future.
Once again, this was a quite satisfying read.
Max Landis continues his story by focusing on another era of Clark Kent's life, this time his adulthood and how he will meet people who are pretty relevant to his own beliefs. The characterization is great and speaking as a huge Green Arrow fan, I think that Landis got Oliver Queen's character fine enough, I have a few nitpicks about how the island event affected his life but they're not that problematic. Lex Luthor is pretty much Lex Luthor although he actually presents some complex moments here that make him different from his usual self. Bruce Wayne is as classic as you would expect.
The biggest surprise here was the portrayal of Dick Grayson. We have seen stories about how Superman influenced Dick's perspective to become Nightwing but we have never seen the contrary. Here, Dick is presented as a very perceptive kid who actually inspires Clark to become the person he needs to be. It was a quite good characterization.
Jae Lee handles the artwork and his style might not be everyone's cup of tea but it certainly does a great job at creative storytelling with unique layouts.
Pretty good issue, one of the most interesting this week.
