Wonder Woman will have Harley's help even if she doesn't want it.
Harley has been a fan of the Amazing Amazon since she was a little girl and now she's ready to demonstrate it by taking her place to fight a group of not so dangerous criminals.
The beginning of yet another book based on Harley Quinn's popularity. The premise of the series is about Harley teaming-up with several characters from the DCU and they couldn't have a better first partner than Wonder Woman.
Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner bring their usual game into this first issue by creating an one-and-done tale that is focused on Harley's history as a Wonder Woman fangirl. The story shows some interesting aspects of Harley's character like her childhood and how she showed her particular brand of insanity since an early age.
The good aspects don't stop there since the writers manage to include a set of ridiculous heroes and villains that are quite entertaining while also characterizing Diana in a respectful way. Plus, the story goes a bit beyond that by presenting them as actual people and not really parodies.
Amanda Conner and John Timms share art duties and the result is a pretty consistent and beautiful cartoony look over the course of the issue with great expressions for all the characters and nice action scenes.
Solid opening act. Hope that the following ones are as entertaining.
