Starscream wants to create a day where people can praise him but it won't end the way he expects it. Swerve, Nautica and Whirl are about to receive the biggest gift of all. Thundercracker is telling his own story the best he can.
Oh my God, as far as Holiday special go, this was so much fun.
The first story is handled by Mairghread Scott and is pretty much the Grinch tale, except that the Grinch is portrayed by Starscream. That's so perfect that is simply brilliant. As you would expect the narration is told in rhymes and reference a lot of the characters from the franchise and does it in a way that simply puts a smile in your face. Corin Howell is in charge of the art and her cartoony work is quite fitting for the expressive and humouristic tone.
The second segment is written by James Roberts and is focused on Swerve, Nautica and Whirl and how they take care of a new passenger on the Lost Light. It has everything, nice characterization, humour and emotional moments coming from the person you won't expect. Kotteri handles the art and while he follows the story nicely, the overall work is a bit rough.
The final section is created by John Barber concentrating on Thundercracker who still has writing aspirations and delivers a hilariously bizarre story about Santa Claus just like you would expect from someone like him. John Burcham's pencils work nicely for the different styles they use in the tale.
Overall, I would say I enjoyed Roberts' story the most followed by Scott's and then Barber's in third place. However, all of them were pretty enjoyable and made this issue one of the best I've read this week.
