Anubis has defeated Khalid and not even the Helmet of Fate might be able to save him so if he wants to defeat the dark deity he will need the help of another one.
Well, there was certainly progress here.
Paul Levitz brings the final chapter of his initial story where he uses all of his knowledge about ancient Egypt to depict both Anubis and Thoth while also continuing to portray Khalid as someone pretty normal who just found himself in a situation bigger than he is but still somehow manages to face it for the sake of everyone.
The plot developes adequately and we finally get a climax for it in which Khalid actually uses the best of his skills to save the world, at least for the moment.
However, let's talk about the real star of the issue: Sonny Liew. My God, this issue wouldn't have been half as good without him, each page, each scene shows an interesting method of storytelling that easily makes the script even better than it actually is. One of the best artists working for DC Comics currently.
Solid chapter with incredibly art. Worth checking out.
