Some thoughts about Daredevil #18

The Man Without Fear will have to live up to his name.

Matt Murdock is in his final battle against Kingpin and he will need all of his skills to save his loved ones and maybe keep living after it.

This title represents the conclusion of Mark Waid's long run on the character. Since the beginning of his work, the writer focused on trying to fix Matt Murdock by giving him a more positive look about life while at the same time making him face some of his greatest challenges. So does this work as an appropriate ending?

Well, obviously.

The writer delivers the final chapter of the battle between Matt and Fisk and it goes as well as you would expect based on both characters' history and shows perfectly Matt's skills. Every plot-point that the author has been creating since the beginning of this volume in particular is implemented here and all of them manage to receive a satisfying ending.

Best of all is the interpretation of Matt's character at the end and how the author offers a big love letter about everything he represents.

Chris Samnee once again impresses on art duties thanks to his wonderful style with beautiful characters and perfect storytelling. He remains as one of the best artists who have worked in the franchise.

Great issue, going to miss the creative team.
