Some thoughts about Harley Quinn: Road Trip Special #1

Harley Quinn has picked the best people to accompany her in this trip.

Harley's uncle has just died and she needs to pay her respects, but that doesn't mean that she won't have while doing so and for that reason she will ask both Poison Ivy and Catwoman to go along with her.

Prepare yourselves for craziness!

Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner bring yet another special about our favorite insane antiheroine and this time she's followed by some of her best friends, Poison Ivy and Catwoman. The writers certainly know how to exploit this premise at its fullest due that they use the relationship that existed before the current series to create a pretty entertaining dynamic between the protagonists.

The characterization is pretty strong with Harley showing both funny and emotional moments at the same time concerning the story, Ivy is portrayed as the usual supportive best friend while Selina is depicted pretty much as the version you would imagine in this series, there are cat jokes everywhere.

And there's sexiness, there's a lot of sexiness which is logical based on the characters and I'm pretty okay with that.

Of course, this wouldn't be a Harley Quinn story if there wasn't an hallucination segment and once again, the writers and artists manage to get crazy about it and implement aspects that you wouldn't see in the main story.

Speaking of artists Blet Blevins, Moritat, Flaviano Armentario, Pascuale Qualano and Jed Dougherty handle the pencils here and they manage to maintain a consistent tone over the course of the issue with a pretty cartoony and comedic style.

Great content, hilarious and fun. What more can you ask for?
