Khalid will have to accept fate before is too late.
Khalid has been pretty insecure about his role of the chosen one despite that the forces of Fate think that he's the right person. Now, based on his own beliefs, he will have to decide the right path.
Again, this continues to be a quite enjoyable read.
Paul Levitz is still developing the world of Doctor Fate by concentrating on Khalid's normal life and his relationships, being either with his parents or girlfriend. This manages to create a more relatable and understandable protagonist despite of his religious roots that not many people might share.
Speaking of which, those things are fortunately not pushed to the point of being forced but their inclusion is quite natural considering the nature of the protagonist. The story is slow and that's something that you expect from Levitz' writing but at least there's solid character work to justify it this time.
Sonny Liew remains in pencils as usual and his work is still great thanks to his cartoony style that manages to create appealing characters and wonderful representations of Fate's magic.
Really good issue. However, I hope we see a bit more plot progression next time.
