Some thoughts about Green Arrow #44

What is the secret behind Green Arrow's dog?

Things haven't been easy since George arrived to Ollie's life and now he's going to learn what's the story about his arrival to Seattle and the dangers that it brings.

I'm not lying here, it just took the first page, the first sentence to make me dislike this issue.

"I'm a sucker for women".

Yes, Ben Percy thinks that he needs to tell people that OLIVER FRIKKING QUEEN loves women. Is not like he has a whole history about how many lovers he had and how many hearts he has broken so fans would immediately know that he's a sucker for women right? You might call this a nitpick and it certainly is to some extent but is yet another example about how blunt the writing can be.

Which also leads me to the other problem, Oliver's current girlfriend thinks that the best way to know him is to ask a fortune teller. Seriously? Unnatural is not something strange to this title since this creative team started but this pushing it.

The rest of the issue is not so bad. I kinda like some of George's background and mythology but at the same time the narration is so overwrought that it affects the overall read and it also makes me wonder how does the crazy bird lady knows this.

Patrick Zircher and Fabrizio Fiorentino share art duties and Zircher's work remains the strongest. Fiorentino is sadly not able to follow that same level of quality.

On the fence about this issue, is not as bad as previous ones but still flawed.
