Green Arrow has been infected and that could be for the better.
The Lukos virus has been making Oliver more apt for his job but is also slowly making him less and less human. Now, he will have to learn how this is connected to how his privilige has been affecti...
Nope, can't go on with this with a straight face. I simply don't buy it.
Ben Percy actually continues the story he started with the Green Arrow Annual about Oliver being infected by a virus that is turning him into a werewolf. Actually, the core story is not so bad but is quite unremarkable. Is about Ollie using this enhancements to feel better with himself and trying to hunt someone who has suffering the same thing.
Aaaaand then comes the whole "privilege" thing.
Yes, the theme about Oliver being privileged that Percy used in the Annual comes back but just as in previous examples, is not implemented in a satisfactory nor logical way. The author is trying to connect both the story and this theme but they simply don't mash. We're lead to believe that this virus somehow makes Oliver finally realize that he has been priviliged all his life and he has never had any disadvantage whatsover and I can't help but wonder, how the HELL did he come to that conclusion? Once again, it seems like Percy is trying to force this social issues into the plot but does it in quite shallow and irrational way.
But okay, I can buy that Oliver has been "privileged" but you know what? This shouldn't have been the first time that he realized that and this is not the first time he had a disadvantage.
Which was the first time? When he was STRANDED IN A FRIKKING ISLAND! When he had to survive every day to not starve or being killed. That was the first time when he realized what not having a privilege actually means. Is like the writer doesn't know the character at all.
Good things? Patrick Zircher, good storyteller but not enough to save the plot.
Terrible, just don't bother with this.
