Some thoughts about Superman #48

To get his powers back, Superman will need to face his own death.

After breaking up with Diana, Clark will find himself along inside of A.R.G.U.S. with an enemy that is prepared to kill him but inside of that organization there could also be a way to survive.

Okay, this wasn't so bad actually.

Gene Luen Yang plays with some of the ramifications of the last issue of Superman/Wonder Woman by creating an interesting interaction between Clark and Steve Trevor. The way how the two compare their love lives with Diana is pretty logical and works nicely based on their histories, best of all, both characters remained likable during the whole dynamic without anyone looking like a douche.

The villains are okay but not particularly engaging. Still not feeling the social media bad guy (whose name I don't care to remember) and the Puzzler is a bit interesting but not really complex.

Howard Porter remains in art duties and his work is still pretty good with a lot of complex environments and kinetic action scenes.

Not bad but still not enough to save the run as a whole.
