Some thoughts about Doctor Fate #8

Khalid has saved the world from Anubis, now what?

The Helmet of Fate is constantly asking Khalid to heal to world but he doesn't even know where to start. Maybe with the help of his family he will find the road.

Very little plot progression but I can't help but enjoy this.

Paul Levitz brings a new chapter in his story where he focuses on character work, the whole issue might just be character work in fact. Khalid is dealing with the ramifications of his battle with Anubis and now he needs the support of his family to continue his work. Once again, I think this is the strongest aspect of the book, exploring Khalid's background as well as the dynamic with his family and friends.

As I already mentioned there's barely any story here but that doesn't stop this from having good moments like Khalid rebuilding the city and helping people.

Ibrahim Moustafa is handling the art this time and his work is pretty appropriate for the book with a more realistic tone compared to Sonny Liew but still able to get good emotions and storytelling.

Nice issue overall, hope the next one shows more plot though.
