Aquaman is ready to take back everything that was stolen from him.
Arthur has finally returned to Atlantis and has the help of the Justice League to defeat the forces that have been causing all this disaster but is that enough?
This issue marks the conclusion of Cullen Bunn's tenure in the series and as a conclusion is still not enough sadly.
There are a couple of solid moments of characterization for both Arthur and Mera but aside from that, the issue is mostly about the battle between Arthur's army and his enemies and as far as battles go, is not really impressive. We don't even have a proper encounter between Siren and him considering what happened.
... You know what? I'm going to go on with that. What happened with the whole rape issue? I know is something that Bunn did by accident but it wasn't addressed in the slightlest, not even a final confrontation with the culprit which at least would have delivered a satisfying closure to it.
Oh, and the last pages are not really worth mentioning. Is just a derivative way to prepare for the upcoming run by Dan Abnett (Hell, it even says so at the end which pretty much means "Is going to get better. PLEASE KEEP READING THE BOOK!").
Vicente Cifuentes is the best part of this chapter since his art is pretty good with great looking characters and strong action scenes.
But really, this was a quite underwhelming period for the character. Even if we ignore the problematic aspects of it it was just mediocre. Better luck for the next creative team.
