Some thoughts about Old Man Logan #1

Wolverine has came back in time but for what reason?

Logan has suffered a lot during his life and one of his biggest losses was his family. However, now he has returned to the past where he has the possibility to start a new life or try to prevent the future from happening.

This story is based on one of one of the best-selling Wolverine stories of all time, Old Man Logan written by Mark Millar where he told the story of a an old Wolverine who survived the rise of the supervillains that devastated the world. Now, this new beginning is written by the critically acclaimed creative team of Green Arrow, Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino. How does it fares?

Quite nicely of course.

Lemire immediately gives Logan a new purpose in life by doing a few references about his last story that are enough to explain his background while focusing on a new direction that is actually quite logical considering that kind of person we're talking about and the circunstances.

The characterization is pretty good with Logan being a pretty understandable protagonist in which you're automatically invested into. Plus, there are some certain exploration of obscure characters from the Marvel universe.

And obviously, one of the biggest aspects of this story is Andrea Sorrentino. Almost every single panel contains a memorable scene and is all thanks to his beautiful and distinctive style. The storytelling is also pretty good with pretty creative layouts.

Promising beginning. Definitely interested to see more.
