Some thoughts about Batman #47

The menace of Mr. Bloom continues to grow.

Gordon still feels overwhelmed with all the things he has to deal by being Batman while Bruce needs to deal with the fact about who Batman really is and both will have to face their own archenemy.

Okay, this was a bit more interesting at the very least.

Scott Snyder brings a new chapter where he continues Gordon's journey as Batman while showing how different he actually is from the old one. It's still a compelling characterization and certainly on-point based on the kind of person that Gordon is.

I still don't feel that impressed by Mr. Bloom despite that his level of threat is certainly big and continues to escalate. Sure, he's a maniac villain with a personality but with a city full of them he needs to try a bit harder to actually become memorable.

This issue also presents a dilemma for Bruce but one that is a bit one-sided due that Duke is telling him that he needs to be Batman because the world needs him and is selfish if he doesn't come back.

You know what Duke? Is also selfish to ask a man who has given everything for you to forget his happiness to make YOU happy. I don't know is Snyder is actually serious about this but it doesn't seel the idea of Bruce coming back. I want him to return but they should have made a better argument.

Also, the last page is quite promising.

Greg Capullo handles the artwork and is still as gorgeous as ever thanks to his unique style and storytelling.

Solid issue overall, hope to see an end for this arc soon though.
