Green Arrow's life is going to hell.
Nobody in Seattle wants Oliver anymore, not even his own sister who is trying to kill him. Now, is up to Oliver to try to convince his former friends and save Dinah.
I have a feeling that this is starting to become a parody of itself.
What is the usual stuff that you would expect from this title with Ben Percy at the head?
Bad narration and dialogue right?
However, what happens in this issue is not even consistent with itself anymore. There's the usual overwritten narration that tells more than it should with terrible lines and I mean TERRIBLE lines, at one point Diggle says to Oliver:
"I have come to avenge your death but to finish what I started, looks like I'll have to kill you first!".
Which is an unbelievably STUPID thing to say. I don't think that neither Diggle or Percy were really thinking about what that piece of work actually meant. They might have thought it sounded cool in their heads without realizing how contradictory and overall idiotic statement that is. What are you planning to do Diggle? Kill yourself after killing Oliver? Good God.
Then again, that dumb line is actually accurate with the kind of characterization that Diggle receives here. Since he was reintroduced by Percy, he has been flip-flopping between "I hate Oliver!" and "I have to help Oliver!", and is no different here with Diggle fighting Ollie for just like two seconds and then going all like: "Nah, I was just kidding dude, we're cool". It seems like this scene was just created to fill some pages due that it pretty much accomplishes NOTHING. What was the point of all this anyway? Is a complete waste of time and space.
Oh, and Dinah was easily defeated by Emiko who shot an arrow to Dinah's leg. I'm just saying that arrow better have been poisoned or else that scene makes no sense whatsoever. I'm also hoping that Percy gives a pretty damn good explanation for Emiko's change of character but I'm not expecting much.
Good things? Well, it seems like the reason why Diggle is angry at Ollie is probably because Ollie had a thing with his girlfriend which... is pretty much something that Oliver Queen would do so no bad characterization there. Plus, it seems like Percy is trying to make an argument for Ollie still needing his money which doesn't make the whole topic as one-sided as expected.
Juan Ferreyra's artwork is pretty good at storytelling but his style is not one of my personal favorites. Still looks quite distinctive though.
Keep the artists, drop the writer. That's the best course of action.
