Who is the JLA's last hope?
Rao's influence continues to increase just as the level of threat he brings. The team is falling one by one and is up to just one of them to stop the Kryptonian menace.
I never thought this story would continue, most people were expecting it to be cancelled at this point but I think that would have been for the better.
Bryan Hitch continues his story about the arrival of the Kryptonian God Rao by developing more about the society where he comes from as well as exploring more about what he can actually do. To be fair, there are some solid moments in terms of characterization and ideas with the whole team having some interesting moments and some of them shining the most. The concepts are kinda compelling and the presentation is well-executed.
The thing is that I'm not invested in this story anymore. It wasn't particularly engaging to begin with and the constant delays hurt that even more. In this issue there's not a lot of plot-progression either, there's some exploration about Rao but nothing that can actually move the plot any faster.
Hitch's artwork can be pretty uneven with some scenes looking good while others seeming rushed.
At this point I think I just want to see how this story will end and even with that in mind, I'm not expecting much.
