Some thoughts about Harley Quinn #1

Even when Harley Quinn tries to adjust to normal life, crazy stuff always find her.

After spending a time with her girlfriend Poison Ivy, Harley will find herself fighting against a strange epidemy that is turning people into what it seems to be zombies.

No crazier way to start a new series but with zombies.

If you're familiar with Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner's work on the character you will know what to expect from here. New readers will also be able to understand clearly what's happening though since the writers do a pretty profound explanation of the character's life and her friends (all of it is pretty self-aware fortunately).

About the story itself, follow me here: An alien has been accidently turned into hot dogs and people who eat them turned into zombies. That's just classic Harley Quinn humour and insanity, and I wouldn't be surprised if this also plays with the classic animal rights theme that the character tries to represent. What follows is pure madness with Harley and her friends trying to survive the horde of creatures.

Chad Hardin handles the artwork and is still pretty good looking with a cartoony style that is perfect for character expressions and the comedic and even gory moments.

Solid beginning. Hope the next issue offers more of the same.
