Can Aquaman and Mera escape from the army?
Arthur is trying to reason with Mera while at the same time fighting to get away from his captors. However, there are more things he should be worried about.
This issue felt a bit of a fast read but it was a good one.
Dan Abnett continues his story and brings a new chapter focusing mostly on the relationship between Arthur and Mera who, quite frankly, act like a married couple already. Arguing about who is right here while still showing they care for each other. The problem is that this was mostly a big action scene and aside from the character interaction there's not a lot to see.
That being said, Abnett uses this opportunity to progress others plot-points like what's happening in Atlantis, Black Manta's plans and how other people see Aquaman in the surface world. This manages to make the issue more content packed at least.
Philippe Briones is in charge of the pencils and is solid but it seems like his style is getting a bit rough at times, especially during action scenes due that the characters don't look as good.
Still, I consider this a solid chapter. I just hope to see more of the proper story in the next one.
