Constantine is back to his roots.
John is trying to get a rest after saving the world once again but Swamp Thing has other plans for him. Meanwhile, a bigger threat from the past is coming to end everything.
Well, I feel this worked better than the Rebirth issue at the very least.
Simon Oliver offers a new installment where he focuses pretty much on John being John, initially negating to help others but ultimately doing it. The character work is pretty solid and it was good to see him being back to his proper more in control personality, I would say that this characterization has more in common with the early New 52 series than the DC You one (which is for the better really since the latter wasn't really the best). Constantine is still a smart asshole but he shows his own compassionate side.
The reveal of the antagonists seems interesting and it certainly creates a solid aspect of worldbuilding. The inclusion of Swamp Thing is classic for any Constantine story and the mentions about their previous encounters were fun.
Moritat continues to handle the pencils and his work is solid. The storytelling works better here than in some of his previous works and the fact that he changed his style a bit to reflect the DC You era was a fun touch.
Enjoyable enough, hope the book keeps improving.
