Aquaman will have to deal with the rest of the planet the best way he can.
The relationship between Atlantis and the surface world is getting pretty complicated and things will get even worse once that several people appear dead.
Once again, this series succeeds at delivering a satisfying read.
Dan Abnett offers a new chapter where he focuses on the ramifications from the last one with Arthur taking responsibility for his people and offering himself as prisoner of the surface world. The whole story consists of several different aspects from the politics being implemented to try to prevent a war between both civilizations, to the people from Atlantis investigating a recent accident, to Black Manta and Black Jack planning their next attack, you get a lot of content in this issue. Several plot-points being developed that makes you feel like you get your money worth.
Not only that but the characterization is also pretty enjoyable. Arthur and Mera are each portrayed accurately but some of the best moments from this installment come from their interaction by showing how much they care for each other and even delivering some fun lines here and there.
Philipe Briones handles the artwork and is pretty solid with expressive characters and a clean style.
Good stuff, this is one of the most consistent DC books right now.
