Batgirl will have to learn about the bigger world outside Burnside.
Barbara is trying to explore more of Singapore by visiting their gyms and maybe forming a new relationship but she will quickly realize they are too much for her.
Some things worked while others didn't for me here.
Hope Larson offers a new chapter where she continues to focus on Barbara's new status quo by exploring more of this new environment as well as developing the rest of the characters who appear here. Some of the worldbuilding is solid by revealing how the system works and how things might be more complicated for Babs. The new characters are solidly introduced, the dialogue is enjoyable and it has a lot of content.
The thing is that I'm not too fond of the fact that Larson forced a romance so quickly between Barbara and Kai. I was hoping for more time to develope both their characters and personalities in this new setting while also developing the plot or even better, not create a romance between the two at all and focus on them as individuals but alas that's not the case. I feel this is too predictable and I wouldn't be surprised if Kai indeed turns out to be evil.
Not a fan of the thought balloons either and sadly they're more abundant here. It needs narration boxes.
Rafael Albuquerque remains in art duties an his work is still excellent by putting a lot of style in the different characters and action scenes.
Overall, not as good as expected but still worth checking out.
