Some thoughts about Midnighter #8

The hunt begins once again.

After being betrayed by the person who he loved, Midnighter is ready to dedicate himself to his career and there's no better way to start than punish people who are playing with the laws of nature.

I'm glad to confirm that this series continues to rock after the initial storyline.

Steve Orlando delivers a new chapter where he focuses on the ramifications of the battle between the protagonist and Prometheus and how that affected Midnighter in a personal manner. However, most of the issue is dedicated to an exciting new mission based on how men start using animals for their messed up experiments and murderous nature. The themes are quite strong and are nicely integrated into the story.

Not only that but the author explores the DC universe by reintroducing a classic yet obscure DC superhero and doing it in a logical way by connecting him to the Red and making him play an important role into the plot.

Oh, and the ending promises bigger things too.

David Messina handles the artwork this time and his style is quite polished with good looking characters and precise storytelling that manages to depict Midnighter's abilities perfectly.

Enjoyable issue, hope that the next one arrives soon.
