Catwoman is back to her roots.
After spending a while as a mob boss, Selina is ready to return to her true passion: Stealing everything she wants. However, things are about to get complicated once that she realizes that someone is ahead of her.
This is basically a classic take on Catwoman and a pretty good one at that.
Frank Tieri begins his work on the title by making the protagonist like herself which is something we have seen in a while. There are little references about Genevieve Valentine's run that serve to create a nice continuity and then the rest is pure and fun Catwoman action which is a breath of fresh air.
The author fortunately gets Selina's voice by portraying her as smart, intense and passionate while also depicting a story where she can utilize all of her skills and sets-up a nice mystery around it.
Inaki Miranda handles the artwork and is certainly impressive with a pretty expressive style for the beautiful characters and an inventive storytelling skill.
Pretty promising issue, looking forward for the future.
