Some thoughts about Trinity of Sin #1

Can three souls who were condemned be able to work together?

The Question, Phantom Stranger and Pandora have been attacked by a mysterious force that wants something from. Now, with the loss of people in their hands, they are decided to work together to face this new threat although some of them might not be ready to accept it.

This is the beginning of yet another take on these supernatural characters. The series based on the Trinity of Sin were really hit and miss, Phantom Stranger was a constantly solid series but Pandora was overriden by events that hurted its quality. This time, their story is being handled by the author of Phantom Stranger, J.M. DeMatteis so does he delivers what is needed to create a compelling story?

I'm glad to say that he definitely does.

From the start we see some scenes focusing on an often ignored member from the Trinity, The Question and how he actually is not as unrelatable as others might think. The author continues with the reinvention of the character as a supernatural being but he still manages to maintain part of his humanity.

Phantom Stranger also receives good moments as expected and Pandora continues with the development that happened during her title. Plus, the new threat seems to be pretty interesting so far and certainly presents a good challenge.

Yvel Guichet is in charge of the art and his work is solid. While his character models might not be impressive, the way he draws mystical creatures is pretty good and he gives them a lot of detail while following the story quite nicely.

Pretty promising issue, I really enjoyed every moment of it.
