Some thoughts about Batman and Robin #35

Can the Batman family survive their travel to Apokolips?

Bruce has finally arrived to reclaim the corpse of his son but the rest of his children are not going to leave him alone. Now, all of them are forced to face the horrors of one of the worst places in the universe.

Robin Rises continues to deliver an interesting experience.

Peter Tomasi's story focuses this time on the rest of the heroes from Gotham City and how they're ready to after Bruce no matter what that could bring. The moments between all these characters is well-depicted and it certainly they certainly have good opportunities for characterization.

I also really liked the contrast between Bruce/Damian and Darkseid/Kalibak that Tomasi is implementing, it makes for a pretty interesting dynamic.

There are some flaws though. At times the dialogue can be kinda heavyhanded and some of the scenes seem a little forced (there's one part where all the characters start wearing Robin costumes), it hurts the read a bit.

Patrick Gleason continues to deliver an outstanding work on pencils with excellent storytelling techniques and a great amount of style.

Overall, a solid but a little flawed issue.
