Some thoughts about Aquaman #35

Aquaman's worst fears are about to get real.

After his battle against the Chimera and the traitors from Atlantis, Arthur has decided to start taking a more active role as a king and hire Doctor Shin to help him. However, despite of his best efforts the problems are about to get worse.

This actually exceeded my expectations by a lot.

Jeff Parker utitilizes the ramifications from the last arc in a pretty competent way by developing a nice character progression for Arthur as well as his job as the leader of Atlantis. Not to mention that many of the plot-points he has been using over the course of his run are being implemented here.

There also was a lof of content. I was surprised about how much story and details were packed here and how it was executed in a pretty logical way.

The ending was pretty interesting too and it actually connects to a story Parker told in Secret Origins.

Paul Pelletier returns to the pencils and his work is magnificent. He's able to capture every scene perfectly and manages to make the script even better.

One of the best issues from this run. Good job.
