Some thoughts about Justice League #35

Can the Justice League truly trust Lex Luthor?

Bruce knows that Lex hasn't changed despite of how many times he says the contrary and so the rest of the team are ready to start manipulating him just as much as he's manipulated them. Nonetheless, an unexpected attack may cause an even bigger problem.

This is pretty much a prologue for the next big storyarc and boy, does it work.

Geoff Johns continues his tale about Lex Luthor being part of the Justice League by creating some of the best characterization and team dynamics that have happened in this book. The interactions between Lex and Bruce are a goldmine and the writer knows how to exploit every moment they share perfectly making a quite engaging battle of wits.

That doesn't mean that the rest of the team don't receive their own moments though. The conversations between Cyborg and Shazam are really fun while Aquaman keeps getting little but nicely done scenes. My personal favorites are the ones who are focused on The Flash and I really love the way Barry is being portrayed here, he's simply a really fun-loving guy.

Art duties are shared between Ivan Reis and Doug Mahnke and their work complement each other's pretty well. There's a great amount of polish and beauty here.

Overall, one of the best issues from this title in a while and a great prelude for the upcoming storyline.
