Some thoughts about Justice League Dark Annual #2

The Justice League Dark is about to face a threat that could change them forever.

The House of Mystery has played an important role for the team almost since its creation but now such entity will depend on them to confront the House of Secrets and such conflict could mean the end for the relationship between their previous owners.

I'm genuinely impressed by this installment.

J.M. DeMatteis continues his work on the title by delivering a tale that connects both the House of Mystery and the House of Secrets in a way that wasn't particularly explored before. The worldbuilding and resolution of such connection is pretty logical and manage to expand the mythos while also creating interesting plot-points for the future.

One of the strongest points from this issue is the relationship between Zatanna and Constantine and the writer manages to execute it perfectly while also establishing a whole new direction that becomes quite emotional at times.

This was also quite good in terms of content, this Annual actually uses all the pages it can.

Klaus Janson and John Stanisci handle art duties and their work might look a bit unpolished at times but is somehow fitting for the kind of story and tone that the writer tries to create.

One of the best issues from this run, if you have enjoyed it so far you won't be disappointed.
