Some thoughts about Justice League #34

Can Lex Luthor truly change the kind of person he is?

Both Lex and Captain Cold are still trying to fit among the World's Greatest Heroes but they're not going to make things easy. Now, with both the dangers of the Power Ring and the upcoming unknown threat, Lex will have to make a deal with a person who swore to destroy the Justice League in the past.

I'm glad to see that this story is progressing nicely.

Geoff Johns continues to bring a great characterization for Lex Luthor by making his character more complex than in previous appearances. It's pretty obvious that the ex-villain has some conflict between his heroic persona and his more selfish nature and is pretty interesting to see how both personalities start to clash.

Captain Cold also receive a decent amount of characterization, Johns is clearly setting things up for him in the future. Jessica Cruz and her abilities continue to be explored and this is also going to be connected with the upcoming event.

The weakest part from this issue is sadly the art. Scott Kolins' work is usually solid but here it looks kinda rushed and unpolished which is a shame.

Still, this was a pretty enjoyable installment full of good character moments. Definitely check it out.
