The world is in chaos and is up to the Justice League to save it.
People around the planet are being mind-controlled while several disasters are happening at the same time and the only way to save the people is by trusting a strange.
This story is already incredibly by the numbers.
Bryan Hitch brings a new chapter where he tries to give a bit more depth to the usual end of the world plot without actually making it more interesting at all. The action scenes are what you would usually expect from a premise like this. Mind you, the pacing that Hitch gives it the kind of widescreen style that you would expect from him which attempts to create a more grandiose feel and while it might look nice at times, it doesn't offer enough substance to keep you invested in it.
Plus, I don't even understand why Batman and the rest of the team are making such a problem in trusting the new Superman since they also have new members of the team. Why is this suddenly a problem? It seems like a forced way to extend the plot since Superman is once again the key to fix everything.
The best aspect of the issue is Tony Daniel's art that makes everything bigger in scope with a pretty beautiful style.
Other than that, this is not worth bothering with. Drop it.
