Who is the most terrible person in Riverdale?
Reggie Mantle can't understand why Archie is so popular and once that both Betty and Jughead ask for his help to end the relationship between Veronica and Archie, he will be happily ready to help.
I'm still impressed about the quality of this book.
Mark Waid continues to reinvent Archie's universe and in this chapter he focuses on Reggie Mantle and his relationship with the rest of the cast, especifically Archie. As you may know, Reggie has a history of being the protagonist's rival since he was created and Waid perfectly encapsulated that vibe in this version.
Reggie is portrayed as incredibly self-centered and ready to despise Archie and ruin his life by any means possible. The author has mentioned that he wanted to depict him as a total jerk with little to no redeeming qualities but there are certain hints about a more complex characterization that I hope is explored more in the future.
Veronica Fish is in charge of the pencils and she does a pretty solid job at following the style from this series with expressive characters and clear storytelling.
Enjoyable issue, can't get enough of this book.
