The Omega Men are about to kidnap a princess but is that really what's happening?
Princess Kalista has always gotten what she wants and that could make her unprepared for the upcoming attack of the team. However, there might be a bigger plan behind such actions.
Okay, some things worked, some things didn't.
For one, Tom King manages to introduce an interesting enough new character in the form of Princess Kalista who has a strong personality by herself (too strong I would say because it seems a bit forced at times) while at the same presenting her surroundings as an interesting location. The rest of the cast receive some pretty good moments too, including a really little but powerful scene that show's Kyle's character.
On the other hand, I have been noting something I don't like about King's work. He tends to repeat words so many times to penetrate the reader's head that it's becoming tiring, the phrases "Alpha" and "I'm so very vain" get tossed all over the place without using different methods to show such narration and is simply beating an idea to the ground.
Still, the surprise at the end is pretty interesting.
Barnaby Bagenda continues on art duties and his work keeps improving with every issue due that it looks more polished and the nine panel style continues to be used appropriately. However, I feel like he wasted two pages in a fight scene that should have ended in one at most, that might have been King's fault though.
So overall, is still a solid read but flawed for me.
