Some thoughts about Superman/Wonder Woman #20

Superman is about to feel what is to have the whole nation against him.

Clark has infiltrated into the White House to talk to the president but Steve Trevor is not going to make things so easy. Meanwhile, Diana is ready to investigate what Clark's closest friends think about this.

This issue definitely work from a character work perspective.

Peter Tomasi offers a new chapter where he explores what Clark has been feeling since the time he started his work as Superman and all of it is quite on-point based on the kind of person that he is. This is especially relevant when Clark talks with the President and is good to see that both perspectives are taken in consideration.

Not only that but the author also uses little scenes for the rest of the cast to show their personalities and they work quite well with little to no dialogue. There's also an interesting segment where Diana forces others to say the truth and while this sections are a bit more heavy-handed (especially when they refer to THE TRUTH) they still manage to show perfectly the kind of people they are.

Doug Manhke continues in artwork and is still impressive with beautiful characters and the storytelling remains precise and clear making the script even better.

Pretty good issue, one of the best from Tomasi's run.
