Some thoughts about Green Arrow #43

It's Man Vs. Machine.

Green Arrow has been captured by a demented supremacist while his the robots are trying to get control over the city. Now, Oliver will need the help of Emiko and the rest if he wants to survive.

Oh my God, this has passed the point of just being bad, this is hilariously bad!

Ben Percy continues this ridiculous story where the villains are so one-dimensional that they're simply cartoony. The rich EVIIIIIL guy is so delusional that it's a wonder that nobody has ever tell him that he's nuts and the way how the other racist overly WHITE guy (did he even have a name?) is stopped is simply underwhelming and pathetic, now that I think about it, the rich guy also suffer a pretty similar fate without even showing any other aspect of his personality. These are not bad guys, these are parodies of bad guys.

Which brings me to the next point, I know this story is trying to tell us how racism is bad (because of course, we don't know that) but it's so stupid at the way how it handles it that I think it would have been better if they didn't touch such topic at all. What this story is essentially telling us is that only psychos are racist and we should stay away from them because of course, that's what happens in real life, it has nothing to do with wrong beliefs that pass from generations to generations, it's only crazy people. This story touches such topics in a way that is completely unrealistic and the deadly looking robots don't help any matters.

There are actually some good aspects like when Percy writes Emiko since she's pretty entertaining and in-character but when he tries to be profound, boy, he's so pretentious that the narrations becomes just dumb.

Patrick Zircher still delivers a beautiful work in pencils thanks to his gothic style and storytelling but this is a waste of time for him.

Yeah, if you want to get a good laugh for the wrong reasons you can check this out.
