The world is about to know the compassion of Rao.
The recently arrived God is ready to let people start to trust him by creating miracles everywhere. However, Batman believes that this could have a cost.
God, I can't believe we went there
Bryan Hitch continues his work here with another chapter where he explores the arrival of the Kryptonian God Rao who is making the whole world believe him, even Christian people. Yep, that's right, Hitch dedicated a whole segment where Rao convinced a religious group (which includes a father and a child) to believe in him. Speaking as a sometimes Atheist, sometimes Catholic guy, I'm not particularly offended by this but I'm sure that some people will take it the wrong way when a writer MAKES RELIGIOUS PEOPLE START QUESTIONING THEIR FAITH BECAUSE OF A FICTIONAL GOD!
Seriously, what was Hitch thinking?
The characterization is not much better due that Superman still acts like a gullible idiot who trusts Rao just because (which contrasts pretty poorly to the overly violent Superman that Hitch was portraying at the beginning) and of course, Batman must be the voice of reason because that's how cool he is.
I'm not talking much about the plot because it barely progressed here, some characters moved and interacted but other than that, is pretty light in content.
Hitch's art is impressive at times with some really gorgeous *ahem* widescreen segments and I think his work here looks better than at the beginning.
Other than that, just skip this, is simply moronic.
