Some thoughts about Batman #43

There's a new villain in the city and not even Batman might be able to face him.

Jim Gordon has just met Bruce Wayne and he's trying to convince him to help him to become a better Batman but sadly, the old one is completely gone. Now, Jim will be forced to fight against one of the strangest beings he has ever seen on his own.

This story continues to deliver.

Scott Snyder is satisfactorily developing his new vision for Batman by focusing perfectly on both characterization and plot. The initial conversation between Jim and Bruce is quite interesting because the author continues to play with the classic " Does Gordon know?" theme and it certainly brings some interesting moments.

Some of the best though come later where Alfred explains what's really happening with Bruce after he came back and is certainly an intriguing plot-point which makes me wonder how it will be eventually solved.

And Mr. Bloom actually seems like a genuine threat, good to know that the author managed to create a compelling new character.

Greg Capullo continues to handle art duties and his work is still one of the best aspects of this book thanks to his beautiful characters, detailed action and precise storytelling that makes the story even better.

Great issue, I'm still in for this direction.
