Superman's attack continues to devastate the earth, is somebody able to stop him or will they just have to watch his path of destruction?
The World Army is looking for solutions to save humanity from the terribly rage of the Kryptonian, sadly it won't be enough and they could cause more damage than by doing nothing. Meanwhile, Terry Sloan and Mister Terrific are still being mind controlled by Bedlam and due to this reason, a really important piece of information will be delivered to Superman, another Kryptonian exists.
Okay, first of all, that cover is a lie. We won't see a battle between Doctor Fate and Superman here.
Second, I don't think this issue developed the story that much. There is a segment of the story that concentrates on humanity trying to escape from earth to save themselves only to be stopped by Superman which doesn't really helps moving the plot and it's just there to show Superman's level of danger which is something we already know at this point.
Another complaint that I have is that nitpick about Red Arrow still being Connor Hawke, I don't know if this is Taylor's or DC editorial's idea but it seems like a wrong way to go since people knew before hand that he was supposed to be Roy McQueen.
Also, I must say that I was really anticipating the appearance of The Atom since he was part of the original cast but he's easily dispatched here and not in a pleasent way.
Nicola Scott continues to deliver a wonderful work with her pencils, everything is so vibrant, expressive, detailed and big in scale. She gets better everytime I see it.
Is it a good issue? I'm still willing to say yes since the execution is still good but I'm still on the fence about the direction.
