Some thoughts about Daredevil #1

Daredevil's new life begins now!

After the shocking events from lately, Matt Murdock and his girlfriend Kirsten McDuffie decided to leave New York and open a new attorney office in San Francisco but that doesn't mean that their problems will be immediately solved. A new case for The Man Without Fear has just appeared and it involves the life of a little girl.

The first issue from the relaunched series handled by the same creative team of Mark Waid and Chris Samnee and it's pretty much what you may expect from them.

Waid continues to tell a solid superhero story with impeccable execution focusing mostly on Matt's characterization along with a simple but effective plot. The pacing is really fast and the emotional moments are well handled, nothing truly bad to complaint about.

The problem is that that's pretty much it. This issue follows the same kind of stories that Waid was doing previously and he doesn't really exploit the new setting to create a new dynamic for the hero, this may be solved in the following issues but right now, it doesn't offer anything different from New York.

Chris Samnee continues his excellent artwork on this series, an expert in storytelling he creates great visuals along with really creative scenes.

Satisfying issue definitely but one that ultimately doesn't offer anything new.
