Hal Jordan has been at his lowest point, it's time to start rising.
After suffering due to his own mistakes, Hal is willing to learn from them. Leaving earth to be full time on the Green Lantern Corps he decides to start collaborating with the biggest minds of the organization. However, this might not be enough to stop the menace of the Durlans that are closer than what they may expect.
I must say that I really enjoy the work that Robert Venditti is currently doing, every aspect of this series has been created for a reason and the pay-off is coming into fruition.
Since the first issue of his run, the author has put Hal on a mission to
prove himself as a leader and it seems like the resolution of that arc
is finally here. Hal has learned that he can't act without a plan and he's decided to collaborate with the people who have the abilities he lacks, pretty much what every leader needs to do. This is a pretty natural course of action and I'm glad that Venditti is adressing it.
Also, some of the scenes are simply really well writing like the opening segment with Hal and his family saying goodbye and Saint Walker conversation with Mogo are just really great crafted pieces of character work. I wish we would have gotten more focus on Saint Walker though since that's what I was expecting.
Billy Tan shares art duties with Martin Coccolo this time and their work mix pretty well, the transition between one style to the other is pretty seamless and looks quite solid overall.
One of the best issues from this run and I hope that it continues Hal's rise to glory.
