Some thoughts about Green Lantern #42

The Green Lantern Corps have disappeared and is up to Hal to find why.

Hal might have quit his organization but he still feels responsible for what happened to them. However, he will soon realize that there are other things to worry about once that a strange material starts threatening people.

This new direction continues and keeps being interesting so far.

Robert Venditti returns with a chapter in which he continues to develope the new cast of this title and manages to make them interesting enough while also giving them an interesting background. Hal receives also a solid characterization obviously focusing on how despite of everything that happened, he's still the same person.

There are a lot of plot-points being created here too. From the dangers of using Krona's Gauntlet to the mysterious threat that could become bigger to the appearance of one of this series best villains, this issue manages to give enough hints about the future.

Billy Tan delivers one of his strongest works in art duties yet with a lot of energy in terms of the different constructs that Hal can create with his new powers.

Nice issue and it certainly maintains my interest.
