Cyborg's life is about to get more complicated than ever.
Victor has always been suffering due to being half man and half machine but after getting attacked by strange alien beings and developing new abilities things will get even more problematic.
This is one of the most anticipated series from DC Comics and with good reason. It not only represents the first ongoing series of one of the main characters of the Justice League but also the possibility to expand the technologic side from the DC Universe from Cyborg's perspective. Author David Walker has been assigned to the job so does it delivers?
Well, let's talk about it shall we?
One of the points that will be immediately noticeable is the narration and it's sadly not the best. Walker's narration is sometimes kinda clunky tending to full some layouts with words and ideas that repeat themselves frequently to go to the point of oversaturation. I wouldn't mind if this didn't happen so often but it actually does a couple of times.
The characterization itself is solid with the author playing with the idea of Victor's obviously hating his current state but he does it with no sense of subtext and once again, he tends to repeat especific words and ideas that start to get pretty tiring after a while. The direction itself is interesting enough with a mysterious threat rising and Victor having to deal with some real life issues that are related to him but are not really delivered in an exciting way.
Ivan Reis is actually the strongest factor of this issue with great looking layouts and beautiful characters with solid storytelling. The design for some of the creatures is especially compelling.
Still, I can't honestly recommend you to read this issue sadly. I think it will need to improve a few aspects to become a must have.
