Some thoughts about Justice League #42

The war continues to show its worst aspects.

Darkseid and the Anti-Monitor are decided to destroy each other and nothing in their path will stop them. Meanwhile, the Justice League realizes that if they want to prevent the destruction of their planet they will need to also gain the power of a God.

Oh yeah, this event is proving to be a quite entertaining one.

Geoff Johns brings a new chapter where he continues his character work on both Darkseid and the Anti-Monitor while presenting each one's motivations and personalities which so far are pretty interesting and definitely demonstrate the kind of threat they are.

The rest of the cast also receive good personal moments, especially Wonder Woman who finally gets her time in the spotlight while showcasing that while she was made for war, she wants to prevent it if possible, this is probably the most accurate portrayal of her I have seen in this book. Great job.

There are also some little moments for the other characters like Shazam telling how strange his own world is, Green Lantern remembering his first encounter with the New Gods and Batman... well, you will see.

Jason Fabok is still on art duties and his work is still perfect for the book by making every action scene epic in scope and the personal moments even stronger.

Great issue, really loving where this is going.
