The new Doctor Fate will need to learn how to use his powers before it's too late.
Khalid has been chosen to wear the helmet but he's still unsure of his role in this. However, once that other people's lives, including his father's, are in danger, he will need to accept his destiny.
Okay, this continue to be an interesting read but no without its flaws.
For one, the mythology that Paul Levitz is developing is quite compelling and presents an interesting insight of the whole world of Fate and how this is connected to the different events that are happening in Khalid's own world. The way how the Helmet's abilities are demonstrated seems to be fascinating too.
The problem however, is about some of the dialogue and characterization. Khalid says things like "epic fail" and Star Wars references that are kinda awkward and dated respectively, not to mention that he would refer to other people being in danger, including his own father, in unrespectful ways, not showing the kind of concern that such accidents demand.
Sony Liew's artwork is still one of the strongest aspects from this book with a quite unique style and wonderful storytelling that makes the story even more engaging and creative.
I still would say this is a solid issue but it needs to fix some things.
